Special food and beverage presentations by the Loro staff, meet & greet with one of Loro’s award winning chefs and live music by Texas Blues sensation Guy Forsyth.

About Loro Asian Smokehouse

Loro is an Asian smokehouse and bar brought to you by James Beard Award winners Chef Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue. Its menu will focus on combining Texan and Asian influences highlighting smoked meats, sides, craft beer and batch cocktails.
Loro will showcase a few of their signature recipes and cocktails with a special appearance and meet & greet with of one of their Award-winning chef owners.

Aaron Franklin
Aaron Franklin is widely regarded as one of the most influential pitmasters in the U.S. He received the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef: Southwest in 2015. His popular and critically lauded restaurant, Franklin Barbecue, was awarded Texas Monthly’s coveted Best Barbecue Joint in Texas, and Bon Appetit’s Best Barbecue Joint in America.
Aaron is also the co-author of New York Times bestselling book, Franklin Barbecue, A Meat-Smoking Manifesto and Franklin Steak (forthcoming in April, 2019). In addition, you can find him on PBS as the host of his show, BBQ with Franklin.

Tyson Cole
One of the few American sushi masters, James Beard Award-winning Chef and Owner Tyson Cole is a passionate student of the Japanese tradition. Having trained for more than 10 years in Tokyo, New York, and Austin, he continues his path of study and experimentation each day at the restaurants in the Hai Hospitality family. Employing classical cooking techniques with a Pacific Rim perspective, Cole marries global ingredients with traditional Japanese flavors, resulting in inspired combinations of flavor, texture, color, technique, and style.

About Guy Forsyth

Guy Forsyth is an American Texas Blues and Blues-Rock singer, guitarist, harmonicist and songwriter. As Traci Ferguson, talent buyer for Historic Gruene Hall has said, “Guy Forsyth is simply one of the best performing musicians around.”
He will be performing with some of Austin’s finest sidemen. He regularly tours both in the United States and Europe, and has opened for Ray Charles, Robert Cray, Dr. John, B.B. King, Jimmie Vaughan, and Lucinda Williams. His most recent release was The Pleaser (2015). In early 2018, he and The Hot Nut Riveters will release their newest CD.
Forsyth’s repertoire primarily incorporates elements of Blues and Americana traditions, with traces of Rock, R&B, Folk, Jazz and Pop.

As a songwriter, many of his albums contain his own work, as well as songs co-composed with other musicians. Forsyth has won several Austin Music Awards, including “Best Male Vocalist” in 2005.
